The Germ Theory Is Making You Sick

If you’re a person who is worried about the next coming “cold & flu season” because you’re one of those people that always seems to “catch” whatever bug that is going around your work or school or neighborhood, then you are in the right place.
If you live your life afraid that any sneeze or cough is going to “get you sick”, then this information is for you.

immune-system-remedies

Because I know that you don’t want to live in fear of germs or in fear of getting sick and that you want to live more fully, doing want you want, when you want to do it.

And fortunately, I know that you don’t have to. There are proven, effective and natural methods for you to boost your Immune System so that it is able to fight off any bacteria or virus that you come in contact with so you don’t get sick.

Here I am going to share with you the information and tools that will help you:

1. Strengthen your Immune System on a day-to-day basis to prevent you getting sick in the first place.
2. Fight off an infection more effectively and more quickly if you happen to have already become sick.

Why Do You Get Sick?

The Germ Theory states that when you come in contact with infectious bacteria or viruses, they will make you sick.
Some sick person sneezes over your shoulder in an elevator. A passenger spends the whole flight coughing in your row. Your child or spouse comes home feeling sick, so naturally, you’re going to get it too, right? Well, maybe. Maybe not.

If the Germ Theory was true, I’d be getting sick all of the time. I see sick patients all the time because they are well trained to make sure they get in to see me when they’re sick. If they are starting to feel sick then I can help them head it off before it fully develops. Or the cold or flu has already overcome their body, then I can help them get over it more quickly.

A study from of the University of Michigan showed that when they deliberately infected subjects with the influenza virus, only half of the people actually got sick from it. The subjects weren’t exposed in a casual manner to the virus either, like touching a doorknob or being in the same room with some one who was infected?

germ theory

No, all of these people got the virus sprayed directly into their noses! But still ONLY HALF of them got sick.
If the Germ Theory was correct, then all of them would have gotten the flu.

Think about the elevator or the plane flight example. If you’ve had that experience of being in close quarters with someone who was sick and you later got sick as well, do you think that everyone that came into contact with that person got sick too?

Did everyone on that elevator come down with the same cold hours or days later? Did everyone in your row, or because of the recycled air system, did everyone on that plane go home and get sick as well?

Maybe, but probably not. That just doesn’t happen.

The reason why it doesn’t happen is because getting sick isn’t about the bug. Getting sick is about your Immune System.
“Believing that bacteria cause sickness is like saying mosquitoes cause swamps or flies cause garbage dumps.” ... Dr. Fred Barge
The reason why you get sick is because your Internal Resilience is overcome by External Force.

The External Forces that weaken your Immune System defenses are:
  • Stress
  • Poor diet
  • Lack of sleep
  • Chronic negative emotional states
  • Dehydration

When you don’t eat right, don’t get enough sleep, don’t exercise, don’t manage your stress effectively, you run your Immune System down and you become depleted. Your body isn’t healthy so your Immune System isn’t healthy so it can’t fight off the bacteria and viruses you’re exposed to every day. But if you do the things that keep your body healthy, then your Internal Resilience can withstand the outside stressors and you don’t get sick.
Things like:
  • Eating proper amounts of nutrients
  • Exercising regularly
  • Getting plenty of sleep
  • Drinking lots of water
  • Managing stress and feeling happy

Your Immune System Is a 24/7 Police Force Inside Your Body

Your Immune System is working for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Its job is to constantly monitor your entire body and protect it from foreign invaders. It is like a police force inside your body. White Blood Cells (WBC’s) roam around through the bloodstream and through the lymph identifying pathogens that might cause damage to your body.
When a macrophage or T cell or antibody detects a foreign bacteria or virus, it engulfs it, kills it and eliminates it. They also sends signal to other WBC’s for help just incase they need it. But if your Immune System isn’t functioning properly, then the pathogens can get the upper hand and continue to infect your body and cause harm.

Most people think the bacteria or virus causes the symptoms of being sick when those symptoms are actually mechanisms used by your body to help heal itself. But some times, the DNA within the cell becomes damaged and creates a genetic mutation. If this alteration doesn’t cause the cell to die, then it can cause the cell to become cancerous and the tumor growth process described in the earlier section begins in your body.

Fever - increased body temperature kills off pathogens that are designed to live at normal body temperature.
Sneezing, runny nose and coughing - ways of getting the pathogens out of your body.
Chills - the muscle contraction of shivering produces heat that can kill off the pathogens and the cold sensations you feel cause you to bundle up which will further raise your body temperature.
Vomiting & Diarrhea - other ways of expelling harmful bacteria or viruses from your body.
Decreased Appetite - the energy your body expends in digesting food can be used to fight off the foreign invaders.
Painful, Swollen Lymph Nodes - these glands are police stations of WBC’s and is a sign that your Immune System is fully engaged in fighting an infection.

Many over-the-counter cold and flu medicines only treat the symptoms of the sickness and do nothing to help your Immune System fight off the infection. In fact, they weaken the body’s defenses by stopping the very methods it’s using to heal you.

Antipyretics lower fever making it more difficult to kill off the bacteria or virus.
Antihistamines stop the runny nose and sneezing but they keep the pathogens inside your body longer.
Cough suppressants stop the coughing but they keep the pathogens inside you as well.
Analgesics alleviate the pain but it doesn’t cure the source of the problem.

The result of taking these OTC’s is while you might feel a little better, you usually will stay sicker longer. Instead of feeling miserable being sick for a few days, you feel only moderately miserable being sick for a week or more.
The most common medical treatment for when you’re sick is a prescription for an antibiotic.
Antibiotics only work on killing bacteria though. They do not kill viruses. The flu is caused by the influenza virus so if you’re prescribed an antibiotic for the flu, it won’t do you any good. The only way to know if your infection is a bacteria or virus is to perform a culture, which typically takes 24-48 hours for test results to come back.

However, most patients leave their doctor’s office with a prescription for an antibiotic anyway. Despite that the infection might be viral in origin, patients are given an antibiotic regardless. This dangerous overuse of prescription antibiotic drugs weakens your body because it also kills off your own natural flora that reside in your gastrointestinal tract.

There are healthy bacteria that live in your stomach and intestines that help keep your body in balance and healthy. Your natural flora helps your body to digest parts of your food that you can’t breakdown on your own, to make vitamins and to crowd out other unhealthy bacteria in your gut. This is why taking “pro-biotics” is so important if you’ve taken a prescription antibiotic because it helps replace the natural flora that is indiscriminately killed off by the pharmaceutical drugs.

Now it is evident that their overuse has been a huge mistake and has left us vulnerable to new, more dangerous illnesses. Antibiotics cause increased gene mutations in bacteria as they try to adapt and survive the attacks. This has produced pathogens that are now antibiotic resistant and cannot be killed off by prescription drugs.

In 1941, Staphylococcal bacteria were vulnerable to the most common antibiotic at the time, penicillin. By 1944, some strains of the bacteria were already resistant to it. In just 3 years, the bacteria had adapted to overcome penicillin. Today, 95% of Staphylococcus is resistant to penicillin. In addition to Staph, strains of tuberculosis, gonorrhea and others are antibiotic resistant as well.

Does this mean that if you come in contact with these antibiotic resistant pathogens that you’ll die?
No. If your Immune System is strong and adaptable and is functioning properly, it can protect you even from these “superbugs” so you don’t have to worry about them.

An Ounce Of Prevention Is Worth A Pound Of Cure

Fortunately, keeping your Immune System strong and healthy can be done naturally, simply and cheaply.
Obviously, living a healthy lifestyle is vital for not only your Immune System to work properly, but for your whole body to function properly.

5 healthy habits that you can do on a daily basis to boost your Immune System are:

natural organic remedies for cancer
  • Drink plenty of water. Your body needs to be properly hydrated for your Immune System to continually flush out toxins and foreign invaders.
  • Get plenty of rest. Your body does 90% of its healing while you are asleep it is important to regularly get 8 hours of sleep per night to be healthy.
  • Manage/cope with your stress well. Overwhelming or chronic negative emotional stress interferes with the functioning of WBC’s so it is no surprise that stressed out people get sick more often.
  • Exercise regularly. Moving your body with exercise and/or stretching increased the circulation of your lymph allowing your WBC’s to find more potentially harmful bacteria and viruses hiding in your body.
  • Eat well and get proper nutrients. Like all parts of your body, your Immune System needs the proper building blocks to create a strong police force to protect you and it needs other factors to make sure they function effectively.

This list should seem intuitively correct to you. It makes sense that too much stress, not enough sleep, too much sugar, alcohol and smoking will weaken your body’s defenses and will allow you to get sick more often and stay sick for longer.

And while focusing your attention on these healthy lifestyle factors is crucial, there is some important information about a powerful nutrient that you can take that will greatly enhance your Immune System and will make a big difference in your health on many levels.

The Incredible Vitamin D

I’ve discussed Vitamin D before and how important it is to your overall health. It has been shown to help with heart disease, cholesterol, cancer, high blood pressure, etc.
Vitamin D also plays a crucial role in activating your Immune System to fight off sickness. T cells are immune cells that are involved in your first line of defense. T cells must have Vitamin D to be mobilized and activated against foreign bacteria and viruses.
Vitamin D also helps your Immune System produce over 200 different types of antimicrobial peptides that protect you against colds and flu’s. And these natural peptide are much more effective and than synthetic antibiotics or antivirals.
The higher your blood serum Vitamin D levels, the lower your risk is for contracting colds, flu’s and other respiratory tract infections.

Many research studies have proven that people with lowered Vitamin D levels are more vulnerable to respiratory tract infections including one where school age children that were given Vitamin D supplements from December 2008 to March 2009 were 50% less likely to get sick compared to children who got a placebo. Incidentally, their asthma rates went down too.

What Are Optimal Vitamin D Levels?

To be truly healthy, your Vitamin D levels should test in the 50-70ng/mL range. Less than 50ng/mL is too low and studies show that the majority of people today are deficient in Vitamin D.
“But I spend plenty of time in the sun!” you say.
It’s true that your body can make all the Vitamin D it needs from exposure to sunlight. But you need to spend at least 20 minutes in bright midday sunlight with most of your skin uncovered (think bathing suit exposure) everyday. And that’s without UVB blocking sunscreen on, makeup, etc.
When was the last time you spent 20 minutes per day sunbathing to make your daily Vitamin D requirements?

It should make sense that the “cold and flu season” is in the wintertime when there is less sunlight and because of the colder temperatures, you spend less time outdoors. Your body isn’t able to produce as much Vitamin D, your Immune System is then weakened so you are more likely to get sick.

Thankfully, you can take a Vitamin D supplement to get all that your body optimally needs. But there are some important facts you must know before you take any Vitamin D supplement.

1) Not all Vitamin D supplements are created equal.
Most medically prescribed Vitamin D supplements are in the Vitamin D2 or ergocalciferol form. This synthetic form is also what is used to fortify processed foods and milk. The D2 form is cheaper but it does not get absorbed well in your body and has a shorter shelf life.

Vitamin D3, or cholecalciferol, is the naturally found form found in fish oils, eggs and animal fats. It is equivalent to the Vitamin D formed in your skin from UVB sunlight. It is converted in your body 500% faster than the D2 form and it is 4 times more potent.

2) Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin.
Excess fat-soluble vitamins (such as Vitamins A, D, E and K) are stored in your body so it’s important you get your blood tested to be sure you’re not taking too much.

It is highly unlikely that you will ever reach toxic levels. Published cases of Vitamin D toxicity occurred in people taking 40,000 IU per day, which are far higher than the dosages I recommend you take. But the only way to be sure is to have you blood levels tested by your physician on a regular basis (Be sure your doctor orders the 25(OH)D or 25-Hydroxyvitamin D blood test – NOT the 1,25(OH)D test-it is not as accurate).

Recommended Vitamin D3 dosages are:

  • 5,000 IU/day for adults.
  • 2,500 IU/day for children 5-10 years old.
  • 35 IU/pound of body weight for children under 5 years old.
* There is no evidence of adverse effects in adults with taking 10,000 IU/day.

Vitamin D is a prohormone and a neurosteriod. It has been shown to be an epigenetic influencer of over 2,000 genes in your DNA. Since your whole genome is made up of only 30,000 genes, Vitamin D has a great influence on so many aspects of your health. That is why Vitamin D supplementation has demonstrated to significantly reduce risk of ALL causes of mortality. A 2008 meta-analysis of 18 Vitamin D studies revealed that it plays an important role in heart disease, cancer, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes and even autism.

Think of bacteria or viruses as seeds that are spread around via coughing, sneezing or contaminating surfaces your touch with your hands. Seeds can only sprout and take root in fertile soil that will allow it to grow. If you have a weakened Immune System, then your body becomes an ideal place for a bacteria or virus to plant itself, grow and flourish. Strengthening your Immune System by practicing the healthy lifestyle habits described earlier and by optimizing your Vitamin D levels will insure that your body is an inhospitable environment for those foreign invaders and you won’t get sick.

But I Already Got Sick! What Do I Do Now?

Sometimes, despite your best efforts to stay healthy, your body can get overwhelmed with stress and you do get sick. If you’re starting to feel a tickle in the back of your throat, a runny or stuffy nose or if you’re just feeling a bit more run down and tired than usual and you think you might be getting sick, this is what to do:

1) Drink lots of fluids to help flush your system (avoid sweetened drinks or juices since sugar depletes your Immune System and allows bacteria and viruses to grow more easily).
2) Get more rest. Your body needs its energy to fight off whatever is trying to take over your system so take it easy and sleep more.
3) Take a warm shower. This will increase your body temperature slightly and produce mild fever-like conditions to help kill off pathogens. It also increases your circulation allowing your white blood cells to come in contact more with foreign invaders.
4) Eat less sugar, dairy and grains. Each of these foods hinders your Immune System function. Plus, your body uses a lot of energy digesting food, which could be used by your defenses to fight off the infection.
5) Take Colloidal Silver. Colloidal silver had been used for centuries for its antimicrobial effects in fighting infections. It is used in hospitals by wound care nurses and has been shown to enhance the effectiveness of antibiotics.

Colloidal Silver has also been shown to kill off the deadly, flesh-eating Staphylococcus aureus and other deadly antibiotic resistant superbugs.
While it is possible that excessive, prolonged use of silver may be unhealthy for you, in the short term, colloidal silver can be used to boost your Immune System and give your body the upper hand when you are starting to feel symptoms coming on. I have used Colloidal silver myself for years once my acupuncturist recommended it to me at one of my appointments. It is now my “go to item” as soon as I feel a scratchy throat, a stuffy nose or generally just feel lowered energy levels because my body is trying to fight off something.

COLLOIDAL SILVER DOSAGE RECOMMENDATIONS – take a 2-ounce “loading dose” as soon as you feel symptoms beginning. Wait 4-6 hours, and then start taking 2 droppers full every hour until symptoms cease or until you’ve consumed a total of 4 ounces.
